Venue: Meet at the Roundhouse, Grange Park
Description: Ben Rhydding Nature Reserve is one of only three Local Nature Reserves in Bradford District. Steve Parkes, who coordinates the volunteer group that manages the reserve, will provide an informative tour which will include woodland, wetland, meadow and river bank. The walk to the reserve will pass Burley’s Sun Lane Reserve, cross fields and will reach the eastern edge of the reserve after a brief walk down the A65. The tour will take approximately an hour, after which there will be a choice of walking or taking the bus directly back to Burley, or continuing the walk to have afternoon tea at Clevedon House, Ben Rhydding. This will involve field paths and a gentle climb. The aim will be to return to Burley for 5 pm. Some paths may be muddy, so please wear sensible footwear and bring something to drink. There are some stiles. No dogs, please.
Cost: Free – bring money for refreshments.
