Venue: Meet at Ilkley bus station
Description: This 5.25 mile circular walk will visit the upland farm run by Rob and Penny Paisley for a guided tour. The farm specialises in rearing pedigree beef Shorthorn cattle, purebred Swaledale sheep and has two flocks of rare breed Greyface Dartmoor and Welsh Badger Face sheep. The outward 3 mile route from Ilkley will follow paths, lanes and tracks, passing Myddleton Lodge to reach the edge of Middleton Moor and the farm. We aim to spend between two and two and a half hours at the farm, including a lunch break (indoor space is available if necessary), before returning the 2 miles to Ilkley along lanes and footpaths. We aim to finish the walk by approximately 4.00 pm. Please bring a picnic and drinks for lunchtime and wear sensible footwear and clothing. There are some stiles. No dogs, please.
