The Wharfedale Chamber Ensemble is really looking forward to being part of the festival again this year, after their very successful concert in 2024. This year’s concert is conducted by John Lyon, who conducts many orchestras including Leeds Symphony Orchestra and West Yorkshire Symphony Orchestra. They will be joined by violinist Rachel Dow, a young musician who lives in Burley and is a pupil at IGS. She will be playing Haydn’s Violin Concerto in G Major. In the rest of this popular programme the orchestra will be playing Suite for String Orchestra by Frank Bridge, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 10 in B minor, Elgar’s Chanson de Matin and Chanson de Nuit and the well-loved Holberg Suite by Grieg.
Refreshments will be made available during the interval.
Cost: £16 online, or £17 on the door. £6 for under 19s
